Jianghui’s research involves understanding the oceanic and diagenetic cycle of neodymium and using its isotopic composition in authigenic phases to reconstruct deep water circulation in the past. Right now he is working with sediment samples from the Gulf of Alaska in the Northeast Pacific and doing a coretop study that investigates the relationship of neodymium isotopic compositions among authigenic phases, seawater and detrital sediments. This project aims to unravel the intricate role of the North Pacific in global overturning circulation during deglaciation and beyond.
