Oregon's past: Anthropology student Kirsten Lopez

Kirsten Lopez is a master’s student in the Anthropology department here at Oregon State University who is interested in geochemical sourcing techniques such as strontium isotope sourcing of archaeological textiles. Gaining knowledge about geographic source locations will enable examination of textile are manufacturing and movement within her study area of the Northern Great Basin. Her analyses will contribute a whole new type of information that will expand archaeological knowledge about the Northern Great Basin during the Pleistocene/Holocene transition.
