The Liberty 150 was purchased by the OSU College of Science and installed in the COAS Plasma Facility in 1996 in cooperation with the Department of Geosciences. It is an excellent complement to ICP-MS in that it is very good for major and minor elements in rocks and for transition elements. It is typically run with a V-groove nebulizer and a Varian SPS5 autosampler system. Detection limits vary with sample type, matrix, blank level, and interference. Depending on element the typical operating range is 10 ppb to 100 ppm.
